⚙️ TikTok shop just automated five things you're probably still doing manually
TikTok shipped five new features for Shop sellers recently: Automated Affiliate Commission Receipts, Automated Sample Approvals, Creator Picks, new bulk editing tools, and LIVE Auto-Post. None of them individually is a dramatic announcement.
Together, they remove a specific category of manual overhead that Shop sellers running any real volume of affiliate and creator activity have been absorbing by hand, often without realizing there was a faster path available.
The pattern worth noticing is what all five have in common: each one automates a step that previously required a person to manually process, approve, or post something, one item at a time, across a growing roster of creators and affiliates.
A seller running a handful of partnerships never felt the cost of doing this manually. A seller running dozens does, in hours that never show up as a line item anywhere.
Audit which of the five you're actually using right now
Most Shop sellers who've been running affiliate and creator programs for a while built manual workarounds before these features existed, and workarounds have a way of persisting even after the platform makes them unnecessary.
Check your current setup against all five specifically: are commission receipts still generated by hand, are sample requests still approved one at a time, is bulk editing still done row by row. Each unchecked box is hours of manual work per week that a native feature now handles.
Start with commission receipts and sample approvals if you're only picking two
Automated Affiliate Commission Receipts and Automated Sample Approvals both sit directly in the highest-friction part of running a growing creator program, the administrative back-and-forth that scales linearly with roster size and has nothing to do with the creative work that actually drives sales.
Turning these two on first frees up the hours currently spent on program administration specifically, which is usually the fastest-growing cost as a roster scales, well before the platform work itself becomes the bottleneck. You can set up your account through TikTok for Business if these Shop-side automations aren't live yet.
Reassign the time these automations free up, don't just absorb it
Automation that removes a manual task without anyone deciding what happens to the freed-up time just gets quietly reabsorbed into whatever's most urgent that week, which means the actual efficiency gain never gets captured or measured.
Before turning these on, decide explicitly what that reclaimed time goes toward: more creator outreach, more content review, or genuinely fewer hours spent on program admin.
Five small automations rarely make a headline. They add up to a real chunk of a week most sellers are still spending by hand.

🔎 Pinterest and LinkedIn are giving advertisers new ways to find high-intent customers
Pinterest is bringing ads directly into visual search while expanding its AI shopping tools, as LinkedIn pushes advertisers to use company-level engagement data to identify and retarget businesses showing stronger buying intent.

The Breakdown:
Pinterest ads are entering visual search results - Advertisers will be able to place promotions inside visual search and Pin close-ups, tapping into the more than 80 billion searches Pinterest says it handles monthly.
AI can now restyle rooms around potential purchases - Pinterest’s new Restyle tool lets users redesign a room virtually with different styles and products, helping them compare ideas before deciding what to buy.
LinkedIn is showing which companies engage with ads and content - The Companies hub shows which businesses are engaging with a brand’s organic posts and ads, helping marketers separate warmer accounts from companies showing little activity.
Advertisers can retarget companies based on buying signals - Brands can connect CRM data, filter engaged accounts by seniority to check whether decision-makers are being reached, then build follow-up campaigns around higher-intent companies.
Both platforms are moving targeting closer to signals of actual intent. Pinterest can place products alongside what people visually search for, while LinkedIn helps B2B advertisers identify which target companies are already engaging before deciding where to focus follow-up spending.
